Theme: Heritage Management For A constructive Socio-economic Transformation
Kinyaga Heritage Week is an event with key following objectives:
- Raise awareness and visibility, increase preservation and promotion of the heritage in Kinyaga, involve young people to research, be proud and make sure they benefit from the Kinyaga heritage
- Attract tourists and investors and ensure that tourism and investment in heritage management are benefiting local communities and the whole destination.
This weekly event will help our invitees (tourists, investors, students, teachers, researchers, development agencies, public and private institutions, heritage management organizations) discover more potentials in this destination.
The weekly activities from 26th – 30th August, will be as follows:
Day 1; 26th August: Open Day at IVOMO Office and Tea Time experience in Gisakura
Day 2; 27th August: Hiking at Imanzi Heritage Week
Day 3; 28th August: Online Discussion: Involving communities in conservation and heritage management efforts for a responsible tourism and sustainable development
Day 4; 29th August: Kamembe City Tour (Day/Night)
Day 5: 30th August: Familiarization Trip at Imanzi Heritage Village
